Deputy Speaker and Councillor for Electricity Regulatory Authority Cline Glidden was the main guest at the Caribbean Utility Company’s customer appreciation day on Monday, 2 May.
Mr. Glidden represented Deputy Premier and Minister of District Administration, Works, Land and Agriculture Juliana O’Connor-Connolly at the event that commemorated the power supplier’s 45th anniversary.
Also attending as honoured guests were Deputy Principal Dorothy Wilson and students from George Town Primary, a school ‘adopted’ by CUC seven years ago.
The group toured the premises before enjoying food and cold beverages on offer.
The guests were greeted by company president Richard Hew before viewing an outdoor photo exhibit covering CUC’s growth over the decades.
Mr. Glidden described the company as “a Cayman success story” and lauded its corporate citizenship and its reliability – the latter being a feature, he said, that is too often taken for granted.
