According to a government press release Friday, the Legislative Assembly will resume on Monday, 23 May, but only the Throne Speech, delivered by Governor Duncan Taylor, will be delivered.
It had been expected that the budget would be presented at that meeting.
The state opening of the Legislative Assembly, at which the budget is usually presented, had initially been scheduled for 17 May. This was subsequently delayed to 20 May, and then to Monday, 23 May.
The ceremony to mark the opening of the new session of parliament will be held prior to the Throne Speech when the governor will receive and inspect a ceremonial guard of honour outside the Legislative Assembly building.
The meeting will begin at 9.35am and members of the public who wish to attend are asked to be seated in the public gallery by 9.30am.
