Pumped up for Classic poses

Bodybuilding returns to King’s Sports Centre on Saturday with the staging of the Cayman Islands Bodybuilding and Figure Classic.

Organiser Hugh Cotterell said: “There will be about 20 local competitors with two guest posers. It promises to be a great event.

“We recognise the fact that people are getting very obese and not taking care of themselves right here in the Cayman Islands. We are trying to encourage the older bodybuilders and new ones to start doing some form of training, not to do what we do as bodybuilders, but to start training and eating healthier foods. This event is to get more people involved to see what we do as bodybuilders and the important of living a better life style.”

The best of each class will be judged in the categories of Miss Bikini, Miss Fit, Figure Female, Novice Men and Open Men. The sponsors are King’s Sports Centre, Deutsche Bank, Vibe 98.9, Media Investments International Ltd, Green Holdings, Barnes’ Construction, Eduardo’s Restaurant, Island Air and Audio Video Solutions. Prejudging starts at 11am and entry is $10. The evening show starts at 7pm and costs $25.

Tickets are available at World Gym, GNC, Anytime Fitness, Body Sculpture, King’s Sports Centre, Box Offices online and the competitors or from 924-2740
