Pearson Best hit a blistering 66 runs against By Rite which included seven sixes and lead Police to the Cayman Islands Division 1 T/20 final at the Smith Road Oval. A good opening partnership between Ramon Sealy and Zachary McLaughlin laid the foundation for the Best attack. Police innings closed at 173 for 4 wickets.
By Rite countered with Deno McInnis and Jalon Linton scoring 36 runs each. The introduction of Patrick McConvey who took 4 wickets broke the back of the By Rite challenge. Police won by 58 runs.
Steve Gordon continues in his rich vein of form scoring another undefeated half century as Prison booked a date with Police in Sunday’s T/20 final. Having limited Greenies to 140 runs, Prison had no difficulty in getting the required runs as Gordon got some assistance from captain Kevin Bazil and hard hitting Ladel Farquharson. Prison won by 6 wickets.
The crowning of the Cayman T/20 champions on Sunday is at the Smith Road Oval. With power hitters on both sides, spectators are in for a feast.
