The Cayman Islands Olympic Fundraising Committee certainly lived up to expectations at their latest event last month, raising thousands of dollars in the process for Cayman athletes. Premier McKeeva Bush attended the fun-filled evening.
The function at Luca restaurant had a Royal Ascot horse racing theme and everyone was a winner on a magnificent night. Rod Stewart, aka Keith Griffin, added humour with renditions of the Tartan crooner’s best known songs. It was organised by Betty Baraud and her team of women helpers.
There were many sponsors, one of the silver ones being Duetsche Bank who gave a cheque of $5,000. A new sponsor was law firm Campbells. Shaun McCann, senior partner at Campbells, presented a cheque for $2,500 bringing them up to silver sponsor status. The $5,000 from Duetsche Bank brings them up to platinum sponsor status with $15,000.
