Teacher wins Texaco grand prize

Primary school teacher Ruby Petrie is the first grand prize winner of Texaco’s Unbeatable Promotion.

The Grand Prize draw was done live on 29 June on Cayman 27’s Daybreak show, with Z99 calling Ms. Petrie live to tell her she won $20,000.

The John A. Cumber teacher was elated by the news saying, “I just cannot believe it … I am speechless.”

Ms. Petrie said she only entered the competition twice, and the station she filled up at was Jose’s Escape.

When Z99’s Jason Howard asked what she was going to do with the money she said she didn’t know yet, but one thing is for sure – her students come first. After being told she won, she was off on a school field trip to North Side with her students.

Chevron’s Area Marketing Support Coordinator Howard Henry says, “It is fantastic to see such a deserving individual win the first grand prize in the Texaco Unbeatable Promotion. I think we can all attest to the important role teacher’s play in a community.”

The 2011 Texaco Unbeatable Promotion features two grand prizes of $20,000 with hundreds of chances to win $50 in fuel vouchers. Customers who spend $25 in fuel at any of the participating Texaco stations will be given an entry coupon to complete and drop in the entry box. Texaco has partnered with Z99, who continue to call eight lucky customers per day, Monday through Friday through the end of the month. Any participant answering their phone will win $50 in fuel. However, if the person doesn’t answer after two attempts, the fuel will be rolled over to the next coupon drawn.

Further details are available to customers at the participating Texaco stations and on the Z99 website.

The promotion launched 1 June and continues through 31 July with the final grand prize draw on 1 August.

Customers will also have the chance to win gas vouchers at any of the following live radio broadcasts: 20 July at Seven Mile Beach and, 29 July at
Walkers Road.
