Red Cross fundraisers scheduled

In celebration of their 50th anniversary, the Cayman Islands Red Cross is staging A September to Remember, which will include two prestigious fundraising events: a golf tournament and a gala dinner and dance, both sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada.

The 14th Annual Golf Tournament is set to take place over two days – Friday, 2 September, and Saturday, 3 September, at the North Sound Golf Club. The main attraction this year will be the presence of distinguished golf pros Mr. Nick Price and Mr. Mark McNulty.

There will be many prizes and surprises during this two-day event.

The following week, the annual Gala Dinner and Dance Event will take place on the evening of 10 September, at the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa. Guests will enjoy a gourmet three-course meal, a live auction, a Red Cross balloon raffle and plenty of opportunities to win prizes. The highlight of the evening, however, will be the visiting tribute trio act, that has never appeared in Cayman before, who will be entertaining diners with their tribute to the Legendary Ladies of Soul: Tina Turner, Donna Summer and the Supremes.

Tickets to the gala dinner will cost $150 per person, and tables will seat 10 guests.

These two events are part of the CIRC’s new public awareness program designed to address the needs of the Cayman Islands. As part of the world’s largest humanitarian aid and relief organization, the CIRC has identified various strategic initiatives to implement. The two events will enable the organisation to fund their programmes for advanced disaster preparation, relief management, HIV/AIDS education, First Aid/CPR & AED, and services through the thrift shop. Funds raised will be used to assist the most vulnerable families, individuals and children in the community.

The CIRC invites local businesses to purchase sponsorship packages which will include entry to both the golf tournament and the gala dinner, as well as a variety of advertising and marketing initiatives designed to maximise exposure of the company or brand through media.
