Lionfish cull and cookout planned

Divetech is planning a one-tank dive trip to catch the invasive Lion Fish. 

There are two dates upcoming – Saturday, 6 August, and Saturday, 3 September.  

The trip costs $40. Following the spotting, bagging and culling of fish they will be cleaned and prepared in a demonstration by Cobalt Coast Dive Resort’s Assistant Manager, Dora Valdez. 

The dive departs at 1pm from Cobalt Coast and the cookout will begin upon the return at around 3.30pm. 

The taster menu is prepared by chef Ajay Thakur in four different dishes including fish tea soup, ceviche, tempura-fried with Asian sesame dressing and Moroccan spiced with a cous-cous salad.  

A glass of wine or beer is also included in the cost.
