An open letter to Premier McKeeva Bush
I am writing to you with this very urgent proposal regarding the Emerald Sound Development in South Sound.
The decision by the Planning Department to grant permission to proceed with this development is ultimately foolhardy and will prove disastrous to Grand Cayman.
The petition to Protect South Sound, signed by 800 members of the Cayman community serves to remind the Premier and Cayman Islands Cabinet that issues such as the reshaping of land on a small island such as Grand Cayman, especially when exposed to the south easterly winds, is neither wise nor beneficial but instead, could prove very negative in the foreseeable future
I hereby urge Premier Bush and ministers of Cabinet to consider the unspoiled beauty that typifies South Sound, and reverse this decision and reject this development outright.
