Justin Hart is one lucky sports fan as he will be attending the Rugby World Cup games live this year.
Mr. Hart was the recipient of two Heineken hospitality packages from the Cayman Islands Rugby Club. He will be in New Zealand for two weeks with his flight and accommodations already decided.
Mr. Hart, who has never been to New Zealand, states he is pleased to be on his way to Kiwi nation.
“I feel so lucky,” Mr. Hart said. “I have never won a prize like this before so I cannot believe my good fortune.
“Aside from the rugby, I most look forward to playing golf at some of the great courses there including Titirangi Golf Club, which is regarded as one of the best courses in New Zealand and is apparently very near to the hotel we will be staying at.
“I also hope to do a bit of surfing at Piha beach, which is also quite near to hotel, which is an iconic surf beach in New Zealand. I just hope the water isn’t too cold!”
On the pitch, Mr. Hart will have much to observe. This year’s World Cup sees 20 countries taking part in Argentina, Australia, Canada, England, Fiji, France, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Namibia, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Samoa, Scotland, reigning champions South Africa, Tonga, United States and Wales.
Though he will be catching the matches with his brother-in-law and local rugby player Jonathan Murphy, Mr. Hart admits his knowledge of the sport is fairly limited.
“I am a massive sports fan in general. I spend a great deal of my free time – which is unfortunately limited these days due to work obligations – watching and following baseball, football, hockey and golf to name a few of my favourite sports.
“Whilst my rugby knowledge is somewhat limited relative to other sports, I thoroughly enjoy watching matches and have been fortunate enough to have seen a few matches at Twickenham whilst I was studying in London. I enjoy watching the occasional match at the South Sound rugby club. It’s a great atmosphere there – very friendly and always a good time. The atmosphere was incredible at Twickenham and I hope to be able to experience something similar in New Zealand, as they are a rugby mad country.”
