Beauty by the book

Beauty inside and out can never be emphasised enough, and now South Beach psychiatrist and author Dr. Eva Ritvo will reinforce that adage during a discussion of her new book The Beauty Prescription: The Complete Formula for Looking and Feeling Beautiful, co-authored with Beverly Hills dermatologist Dr. Debra Luftman.

The discussion and book signing take place at Books & Books on Thursday, 8 September at 7pm.

“The concepts in The Beauty Prescription are designed to help women make healthy choices and stay motivated to be their best,” says Dr. Ritvo, who was in Cayman in June to lead a motivational boot camp for teenagers as part of the Cayman Islands first Diabetes Week.

Dr. Ritvo’s book focuses on what it means to feel truly beautiful on the outside and the inside. The authors, according to a press release, have redefined beauty around a concept they describe as the Beauty-Brain Loop. Their take on the science and spirit of beauty offers women of all ages a ‘prescription’ that includes such topics as:

How to see beauty in everything around you

Dr. Ritvo will also speak at the fair at the Marriott Hotel ballroom on Saturday, 10 September, from 8.30am-2pm.
