Nine local firms supported an effort by Rotaract Blue recently for a Blue & White Dress Down Friday to raise funds in aid of the Somalia famine relief.
The initiative was supported by AON, BDO, Caledonian, Deloitte, KPMG, KRyS Global, PWC, Trident Trust and WestStar TV. These employers encouraged their employees to dress casually on a Friday in August. Participating employees donated $5. The effort raised more than $3,000, which was presented to the British Red Cross by way of the Cayman Islands branch.
Trudy-Ann Baines, Rotaract Blue international service director and organiser of the initiative, said, “We heard the call for assistance to relief efforts in Somalia and we were eager to answer.
“Rotaract Blue is very grateful to the firms that participated and made this initiative a success.”
