I write in response to some of the things that I read about in the Compass that is going on here on our island between the leader of the UDP, the Governor and the office at the Attorney General. All up and down the marl road it is a buzz with what sound like a little war of disrespect to the Attorney General’s work and office and smack in the middle of it all is the Cayman Compass newspaper. And the Governor; well it is high time Mr Governor that you step up to the plate and do you best for the people of this island and help put a stop to some of the madness that is going on with this present elected Head of Government here in Cayman. We the people of the Cayman Island has come along way with England, and has seen some hard and bitter days of poverty, but we have never seen this type of madness or disrespect that is now going on with member of our Government and in our country. They are members of our Government that want to sell or give away Crown land and change many thing on our island that the people do not want to change only because a few developers want to have these changes in order for all involved to fill there pockets with quick money.
I am asking the present Governor of these island to stand strong with the people of these islands, the same people that are Caymanians who the Queen of England sent you here to help. Stand strong I say against anyone from the outside world or even from Cayman that is here to hurt and tear down our way of life and our wonderful island, we were know as the island time forgot for a reason; we the peaceful people of the Caribbean did not want the quick fixes and the bad changes as so many other islands and we still do not want the wrong changes. Mr Governor do not be afraid to stand up against anyone for us, we do not want our Crown land to be put in any pawn shop deal with anyone, or stolen by the quick fixers. All member of the Government past or present you were elected to office by the people to do your best for the people but instead many of you was just there to get paid. As for the AG’s office do not let anyone stop you from bringing the truth to the people of this island about the position of our country is in with finance. Don’t care if you have to sleep by the Compass newspaper doorway to let us know; and to the Compass newspaper do as you have always done get the information to the public ASAP about anyone or anything that has to be made public. I stand behind you and the people of these island stand behind you for freedom of the press always in Cayman. Our beloved island at this time is in the crossroad once more, Mr Governor, and we must be very careful that madness and abuse of power in our Government do no tip the people over in such a way that would change the Cayman Island to the island people want to forget. Put your foot down and help stop this from happening.
