Couple delighted with Brac stay win

Joel and Melissa Fincher were delighted to find themselves visiting Cayman Brac – for free.

“I’m an addiction counsellor for a family drug court in Georgia and we had a fundraiser to help support the programme. One of the prizes in the raffle was a trip to the Cayman Islands and I ended up winning,” he said. “It has been awesome. We have four kids and it was great for my wife and I to be able to get away and have some rest and relaxation. We have just laid down in the sun – I also went diving and we have rented a car and toured the island.”

It was his first experience of diving, he noted.

“We went out on Tarpon Reef and it was amazing, it really was. I would definitely love to do it again.”

Relaxing time

Although the Finchers had visited Haiti on a Mission trip, this was their first experience of relaxing in the Caribbean proper.

“For sure, our friends are all jealous of us. When we left Atlanta it was 61 degrees,” he said. “And the hospitality here has been great; the people have been very, very nice to us and we cannot wait to come back.”

The prize included a five night stay at Carib Sands Beach Resort and airfare with Cayman Airways from Miami to Cayman Brac.
