GT talent shines

Cayman’s Got Talent auditions heated up last weekend as four George Town district residents qualified for the pre-finals on Saturday, 15 October.

The judges reported that they were quite impressed with the talent they saw last Saturday night.

Yanique Vernon belted out her version of At Last by Etta James. Her rendition, described as “breath-taking” earned top scores.

Misses Bent, Carter and Conh placed with the second-highest number of points for their song and dance routine.

Next, Romero Welcome sang his original composition, Learn to Fly, about the youth of Cayman, which captured the attention of all of the judges.

Winning fourth place was Oscar Calidonio for his rendition of Amazing Love by the United Group.

The judges said they look forward to seeing the contestants rise to the occasion in the upcoming pre-finals.

West Bay auditions

West Bay district auditions will be held at 6pm, Saturday, 1 October, at the John A Cumber Primary School Hall. Pre-registration is from 3-5pm. In addition, because of an issue with school gates being closed at John Gray last weekend, contestants who were unable to make the audition are welcome to come to West Bay on 1 October.
