A 20-year-old man was in serious condition Thursday morning at George Town Hospital after the car he was driving went out of control and wrecked near Cayman National Bank on Elgin Avenue in George Town, authorities said Thursday.
The vehicle was travelling east on Elgin Avenue at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred about midnight, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said in a statement.
The accident involved only the one car. The lone passenger in the vehicle received no serious injuries.
Police said they think alcohol was a factor.
No further details were made available. The accident remains under investigation.
