Cayman Madness is in full swing

The Cayman Islands Tourism Association dive and hotel members, along with Cayman Airways are well into hosting Cayman Madness – six weeks of diving, parties, treasure hunts and fun for visitors to Grand Cayman this autumn. Cayman Madness is a series of special weeks that started promotion last November at the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association tradeshow. It is now drawing groups and individuals to come join the fun as week four dawns.

The weeks are filled with daily dive trips to explore Grand Cayman’s underwater world and evening functions, including a delicious dinner at Royal Palms and a dinner cruise on the Red Sail Catamaran for guests to dine and experience a taste of Seven Fathoms Rum.

Each Tuesday, guests are treated to an underwater treasure hunt with thousands of dollars worth of prizes, including dive and room packages from Red Sail, Divetech, Cobalt Coast, the Westin Resort and the Marriott, along with dive computers from premier sponsor Aqualung. Other prizes have been donated by Cayman Airways, Seven Fathoms, PADI, Sport Diver, AFP Photography and DAN, with support from the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.

Cayman Madness has been very successful, originally conceived decades ago by Ron Kipp of Bob Soto’s diving. It has been re-introduced this year as a great fall promotion and will be carried on into 2012 and beyond, growing larger every year. Red Sail Sports and Divetech are the host dive operators for the 2011 promotion.

The weeks are filled with daily dive trips.
