Leadership Cayman orientation at the Library

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce is calling on residents to consider getting involved in the Chamber’s Leadership Cayman programme, which brings together participants for a six-month, in-depth look into the issues facing the Islands. The conclusion of the programme is capped by a community service project to assist a local not-for-profit organisation.

Interested members of the public can learn about the 2012 programme, which is in its third year, during an orientation session this afternoon at the George Town Library. The session takes place from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Future orientations will be held on Mondays and Wednesday until the end of October.

Applications are due 4 November. Attendance at an orientation session is recommended but not required of potential participants, who can also learn more via the programme’s website, www.leadershipcayman.ky.

The upcoming programme begins with an orientation dinner at Grand Old House on 7 December, followed by an opening retreat 19-21 January, and then seminars every other week until June. There is also a mid-year retreat and a closing retreat, as well as a two-day trip to the Sister Islands.

The application fee for potential participants is $79. Programme tuition is $1,950 for current Chamber members and $2,250 for non Chamber members.
