Cayman Marketing Association held its first meeting at the Chamber of Commerce office in Governors Square in September. The association aims to champion marketing excellence by fostering an open forum for knowledge sharing, education and networking opportunities. The forum will be a basis to exchange ideas to inspire and motivate marketing professionals for career and professional development whilst promoting greater awareness of the profession to the public, garnering industry standards to fuel business sustainability and growth for Cayman Islands.
Quoting a recent survey conducted by the Cayman Marketing Association, social media and digital marketing was the top training requirement for marketing professionals in Grand Cayman.
Katie O’Neill, co-chair of the interim steering committee also noted that the association will be delivering local and international guest speakers and trainers on a quarterly basis with a view to holding an annual one day marketing conference. The association hopes to become future affiliates of the American Marketing Association, Professional Services Marketing Group and the
Chartered Institute of Marketing to receive the latest trends and research reports whilst gaining professional development credits.
The inaugural event was sponsored by KPMG, the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, Ristorante Papagallo and Lions Productions.
