Youth jazz ballet workshop continues

A second free jazz ballet workshop will be held at the George Town Primary School on Saturday.

The New Self Help Community Foundation teamed up with local-born international talent Melissa McField and dance director Kirk Rowe to deliver the creative dance workshop.

“We had 60 people at last week’s workshop,” said JC Connor of the Self Help Community Foundation. “If anyone wants to come and join us on Saturday, they’re very welcome,” he added.

The workshop runs from 11am to 2pm each day and is free to those aged 10 to 25.

Ms McField, who teaches classes at Dance Unlimited when in Cayman, is a graduate of the Edna Marley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. She is also a lecturer at Ardenne High School and the rehearsal director of L’Acadco Dance Company.

She has joined forces with Mr. Rowe, founder and dance director of KRI Performing Arts School, to deliver the dance workshop.
