Pirates Week may be starting but youngsters can still learn on the diamond with a pro club.
The next instalment of the Chicago White Sox camp is taking place this Sunday and Monday, 13-14 November. The Field of Dreams facility in George Town will see warm-up periods (1-1.45pm) and clinics (2-6pm) on both days for children of all ages. An extra 8.30am-12noon session for kids eight years-old and under is planned for Monday.
A steady part of the Cayman sports scene the last five years, the camps have taken place at various times of the year. The visiting instructors over the weekend will be Sam Zagorac and Marty Kobernus, who have come to Cayman for previous camps. Zagorac is a hitting and fielding instructor at the BullSox Training Academy while Kobernus is known as the ‘professor of pitching’ at the academy.
