The Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands recently exhibited at the 64th Annual National Business Aviation Association tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 10-12 October.
The show proved highly successful for those involved with the business aviation sector, boasting more than 26,000 attendees – a 7 per cent increase compared with last year. There were also 101 aircraft on display, which included 85 at the Henderson Executive Airport. Five additional aircraft were displayed inside the convention centre and 11 were displayed at the first outdoor static display adjacent to the convention centre.
The CAACI has been exhibiting at this annual trade show for eight straight years, in which there has been an increase in genuine interest in the CI Aircraft Registry and the Cayman Islands in general.
NBAA features exhibitors from all facets of the aviation industry, such as aircraft manufacturing companies, leasing companies, aircraft brokers, management companies, airlines, charter operators, airports, aviation related service firms including legal, financing, insurance firms and fixed-based operators. “This year was no exception as we had a strong contingency comprised of representatives from local private legal firm Maples & Calder and Grand Cayman FBO Island Air who were on hand to supply information to attendees and joining the CAACI for the first time was the Cayman Islands Airports Authority,” said Richard Smith, director-general of the Civil Aviation Authority.
