We write in reference to the Letter to the Editor submitted by Tim Johnson and published in the ‘Caymanian Compass’ publication on 23rd January, 2012, which we wish to correct.
The article states that “…Digicel has recently announced its plan to offer redundancies to 10 per cent of its workforce across the Caribbean and Latin America…”
We wish to advise that there have been no such announcements in recent times from Digicel Group nor are there any moves to reduce our workforce or offer redundancies. Whilst this article has not explicitly indicated Digicel Cayman, we would like to confirm that rather than downsizing, Digicel Cayman is at present increasing its workforce and in last Friday’s paper vacancies were advertised, which we hope to fill in the coming weeks.
