Valerie nominated for excellence award

An employee of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has been one of only five people selected for nomination to a top industry honour.

Of 35,000 Ritz-Carlton employees worldwide and of 75 submissions in total, only five are selected by the The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company to be nominated for the J. Willard Marriott Award of Excellence and Valerie Hoppe is one of them, said Melissa Ladley, communications director.

“The award recognises eight total employees from all Marriott International hotel brands who epitomise the values of achievement, character, dedication, effort and perseverance.

“She is the only Ritz-Carlton nominee at a managerial level recognised, and also the only one who is not a front line employee. The award is named for the founder of the company, which now employees more than 300,000 people worldwide.” Jeanette Goodman, human resources director, explained further why Ms Hoppe was nominated.

“We have the gold standards awards and within that you nominate people who mirror our key success factors of guest engagement, employee engagement, community footprint and understanding our culture,” Ms Goodman said. “She is fantastic.”
