Cuban magician and teacher Senor Gardini came to the Cayman Islands last week to visit schoolchildren from around the Island’s primary schools and introduce them to the wonders of magic.
The trip, arranged by the Pirates Week Office, was part of a plan to spark the interest of students.
Bernie Bush, director of the Pirates Week Office, said: “They were initially supposed to come for Pirates Week, but because their visas were not complete in time, we decided to bring them back to do some work with the children in the schools.”
Mr. Bush said Mr. Gardini was impressed with the potential to learn magic shown by the children and it was hoped that, eventually, youngsters from the Cayman Islands would visit Cuba to learn about the Cuban culture. Mr. Bush said he hoped the parties would develop a sort of cultural exchange based around magic.
