The launch of a newly updated version of Caymanopoly was held by the Junior Achievement at the Chamber of Commerce offices in Governor’s Square on Monday, 12 March.
The game is a Caymanian take on the traditional Monopoly board game and features a focus on things that make the Cayman Islands special, such as beaches, sun and fun.
“This redesign of the game is our third updated issue over a 20-year period, the first being in 1992 and the other in 2006,” said Junior Achievement Programme Director Theresa Owen-Foster. She said this issue was bolder and brighter and especially Caymanian.
“Caymanopoly is one of the cornerstones of our fundraising efforts for Junior Achievement and we wanted to make the game even more attractive to the tourists who visit the Cayman Islands,” she said.
Proceeds from the sale of the Caymanoploy game go primarily toward benefiting the Junior Achievements after school programmes.
This edition of Caymanopoly was developed by Tower Marketing free of charge. The game is available for CI$30 at participating stores and locations.
