Martyr lands domino promotion after abrupt resignation

Frank Martyr has a new position in local dominoes.

The darts legend is now the vice president of the Cayman Islands Domino Association.

Martyr took the post after Treva McIntosh resigned from his position as vice president.

As a result, a by-election was called and each of the eight registered clubs were invited to take part in the nomination and election process.

Martyr, who is the president of Singh’s Roti Shop domino club, was nominated and won the election with the majority of votes in a landslide victory.

News of Martyr’s appointment comes as the national domino league continues play on Grand Cayman.

Last Sunday East End Mystical Youth faced off against team DLK at Pirates Cove Bar in
East End.

The Mystical Youth carried on their unbeaten winning streak by beating DLK by 29 points.

The star players for East End were Calvin Solomon and Clinton Peddie and the star players for DLK were Darvin Moore and Greg Hurlstone.

The second half of the league starts on Sunday, 18 March, when Roti host Island All-Star at Singh’s Roti Shop while Archies host East End Mystical Youth at Archies Bar.
