Robbery at WB Road condos

Armed Robbery 300x250

Updated: Royal Cayman Islands Police said Thursday that two of the three victims in a pre-dawn robbery at a West Bay Road condo complex were tied up by their assailants

The third person inside the apartment at the Seagull Condominiums apparently slept through the whole ordeal, police said.

A shot was fired during the robbery which occurred at 3.50am Thursday, the RCIPS reported.

The Seagull complex is located just south of the Royal Palms-Reef Grill on West Bay Road. The building where the robbery occurred is just off the road on the sea side, further away from the beach.

Police said the apartment had apparently been left “unsecured” prior to the break in.

The two men who were bound with duct tape were kept in one of the bedrooms by the robbery suspects. The third male slept undisturbed through the incident, according to police.

Police said one of the suspects was in possession of a hand gun which was discharged in the kitchen area. No one was hit by the bullet.

Items stolen included a Mac laptop computer, an iPod and cell phones, police said.

The three suspects were described as black males , slim build and tall, one being about 6’ 3” and all wearing hoodies and denim jeans with their faces covered.

Anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious, or who has been offered any of the above items for sale, is asked to call the George Town Police Station on 949 4222 or the Crime Stoppers line at 800-8477(TIPS).

  1. Our Preimere is in Cuba wasting our money on a retreat he should have had here in his own country. I urge him to come back and have a public strategy session OWN CRIME. Notice he has yet to address the crime status in these Islands? He don’t care.

  2. The Premier seems to have the perfect strategy for limiting the possibility that he will be a violent crime victim – he stays away at our expense.
