Heineken Sunday League leaders Harry’s FC took to the TE McField Annex after an enforced lay off and took a hard fought victory against a strong Prison side.
Harry’s Ian Robertson got his first goal of the season after 12 minutes before Dan Stuber added in the second half. Then Floyd McKenzie made it three with his 22nd goal of the season on 52 minutes. Prison’s Ernel Whitley reduced the deficit with 15 minutes remaining before Harry’s Mark Ingle sealed it for a 4-1 win.
Second place Boca Juniors kept the pressure on Harry’s with a 1-0 victory against Triple Crown Wanderers through Kenzel Dixon. Wanderers were awarded a penalty after Ben Silveira was brought down but Nick Anderson failed from the spot. Boca are four points behind Harry’s with two games left.
The bottom two teams in the league, MC Devils and Old Boys, faced each other at Ed Bush. Old Boys won it through a Juan Carlos goal five minutes from time.
Agua faced CML Claymores and in a one sided match Agua ran out easy winners 9-3.
This weekend it’s the CML Cup semi-final second legs with a place in the 6 May final at stake. Both ties are delicately balanced from the first legs with the matches between Harry’s and Wanderers and Agua and Boca both finishing in a draw.
