Butlers grab four CARIFTA medals

Cayman’s CARIFTA swimming team returned in triumph with seven medals on Tuesday. 

The massive 26 member team competed in the Bahamas over the weekend and were well represented by the Butler family with Lara getting a gold in the girls 15-17 400 metres individual medley and bronzes in the 100m and 200m butterfly.  

Lara, 17, saw her younger brother Geoffrey win bronze in the 1500m freestyle.  

The other medallists were Lauren Hew who took silver in the 200m girls 11-12 backstroke, Kavanagh Lambert who grabbed bronze in the girls 11-12 200m breastroke and Coral Tomascik also got a bronze, in the girls 
13-14 400m individual medley.
