Pastors Winston and Hyacinth Rose are celebrating 40 years of ministry in the Church of God Chapel Bodden Town.
They were installed as pastors in April 1972 about six months after getting married and setting up house in Pease Bay, Bodden Town. To launch the yearlong celebrations, under the theme 40 Years Together! Let Us Love More Than Ever, a banquet is being held at the Family Life Center in George Town on Saturday, 21 April.
The banquet will be followed by a series of meetings at the church in Bodden Town starting on Sunday, 22 April, and continuing through Wednesday, 25 April, with guest speakers Sam and Sandie Bruce from Florence, Mississippi. Mr. Bruce has a Master of Divinity from Anderson University School of Theology, Anderson, Indiana, and Doctor of Ministry degrees from California Graduate School of Theology, Glendale, California, and Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. He has served as a pastor for more than 20 years and as a college president for 12 years. Sandie, his wife, has served alongside him over the years. She has a powerful testimony of healing following non-malignant brain tumour surgery in 1999. Their services include preaching, teaching and contemporary and traditional music.
The theme for the meetings at the Church of God Chapel Bodden Town is Forming Your Relationship with God, Transforming Your Relationships with People.
The service on Sunday morning is at 10.30am. The evening services, Sunday through Wednesday, are at 7.30pm. Other events are being planned to take place throughout the year. The congregation extends a warm invitation to everyone, especially the residents of Bodden Town, to join them.
