A Caymanian basketball player is earning fresh accolades in California.
Tikko Moore ended his career with Santa Clarita Christian School in grand fashion. The East End native earned the Most Valuable Player award after leading Santa Clarita in rebounds and blocked shots in the 2011-2012 campaign that saw the Cardinals claw their way into the playoffs.
Moore, a Santa Clarita senior, has also signed a letter of commitment to play for Simpson University in Redding, California. The school, based in northern California, play in the California Pacific Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Simpson, whose team are called the Red Hawks, posted a 6-20 regular-season record in 2012, but finished the season the three straight wins, eventually falling in the semifinals of the Cal-Pac conference tournament.
For the record, Moore played basketball in Cayman for many years. The son of Primrose and James Moore competed in various leagues in the youth and adult ranks.
