Cayman’s junior tennis players go into battle this weekend in 2012’s fourth PwC junior tournament.
Bobby Lomax, 9, is the favourite to win the 10&Under division, having not lost a match this season. Closely behind in the rankings are Harrison Clough and Dion Loutas.
Solid John-Ross Clough, ranked No.1 in the 12&Under section, looks likely to continue his dominance, despite pressure from James Priaulx and Reese Hoeksema.
And in the 14&Under division, Daniel Reid presently has a firm grip on the No.1 slot, though Callum Theaker, aged 11, continues to shine and may pose a challenge to Reid by the end of the season.
Enigmatic Nicky Polloni, who has climbed to fifth position, is also back on form and could produce a major upset, while Josh Bolland and Nathan McLaughlin, ranked three and four respectively, carry on improving and may also pose a threat to the status quo.
The PricewaterhouseCoopers-sponsored tournament is held at the Ritz on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April. Spectators are welcome.
The PwC tournaments are organised by the Tennis Federation of the Cayman Islands, with support of local tennis pros.
