A prayer for Cayman

My fellow Caymanians, Provers 3: verses 5 and 6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not to thine own understanding. In all they ways acknowledge him and he shall direct they path.”

Never in the life of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. My fellow Caymanians, how I thank God that all my life I have been a very outspoken Caymanian, more than anything or anyone.

I am an outspoken child of God, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But I am a Caymanian who has always fought for the best and stood up for the best of our people and still do.

I am a man of 85 years soon and I have friends in the UDP Party and friends in the PPM. I love you all, but I call upon every elected member of the Legislative Assembly to sit down and put a huge picture of the Cayman Islands in between our two parties and bow your heads and pray: “Oh Lord, open my eyes that I see the people of these beautiful Islands and hear the cries and the voice of the people of this land because I hear words I have never heard before and ask God to help us bury the things that divide us and more entertain the things that once again unite us in these beautiful Islands.”

We need to ask Almighty to humble us and make us your people. And to those that monitor every disagreement and let us set aside every disagreement and look and remember our children and our older citizens. I pray every born again Christian will use our influence to ask Almighty God for our land.

Let me make no mistake but to tell you I still stand tall as a citizen of the Cayman Islands and always will, but I love God and I love these beautiful Islands.

I want to challenge any man of these Islands that has made more sacrifices to help to lead our people to God and to the right. I love you all and always will, but the influences for evil are strong. I call upon every really born again child of God to let us use our prayer and efforts to ask God to continue to bless and lead our people.
