Ogier Art Awards around the corner

The third annual Ogier Art Awards are coming up in June and artists across Grand Cayman are invited to register and submit works for consideration. Artists may enter as many as five works for consideration and these can be 2D or 3D, in any media. The only criteria is that artists be 18 or older, and that the works be original and created during the last two years.

A board of judges, yet to be announced, will select a number of works to be exhibited in Camana Bay for two weeks prior to the winners being announced during an awards ceremony.

Submissions will be judged on skill, creativity and originality. In addition to a first and second prize for the strongest works of art, there will be a third prize for an “emerging artist” and, new this year, a photography prize.

The Ogier Art Award was created as part of the Ogier Corporate Giving Philosophy, to support and promote the development of arts and culture in the community.

The winning pieces of art will be added to the Ogier Corporate Art Collection, which will be displayed at Ogier corporate headquarters.

Artists wishing to register to enter the competition must do so by 25 May and works will be exhibited at Camana Bay from 11-27 June, from 10am to 7pm.
