Murder verdict postponed

The verdict in Chakane Jameile Scott’s trial for murder is now set for Tuesday, 12 June.

The defendant chose to be tried by judge alone and, after closing speeches on Tuesday, Justice Alexander Henderson initially set 2pm Friday as the time he would deliver his decision.

However, word has since been received that the matter has been put off until Tuesday, with a time not yet determined.

Scott, 18, is accused of fatally shooting Asher McGaw, 21, in East End on the night of 21-22 September, 2011.
