Camana Bay camp has champion selection of activities

Camana Bay is known for its summer activities, having their playing field taken full advantage of by hosting women’s flag football, their concourse used for events like triathlon’s, marathons and swim meets.  

They also host basketball of every skill level in their gym – from Under-16 finals and the Orlando Magic basketball camp, to Division One men’s basketball. But from the 9-13 July, Camana Bay’s sporting facilities will be dedicated to the kids. 

Camana Bay is hosting their second annual Multi-Sport Camp, and the options for participation are endless. The purpose of the camp is to provide children with an opportunity to be exposed to a number of different sports and perhaps, have children fall in love with a sport that they will participate in for the rest of their lives. 

The sports being offered in the camp are basketball, flag football, rugby, soccer, street hockey, swimming, tennis, ultimate Frisbee and volleyball. This is large range is available to kids between the ages of 6-14.  

Property manager for Camana Bay Sports Jeffrey Wight states that the camp is all about the children. “With everything we do for kids we’re hoping to give them an appreciation of an active and healthy lifestyle with the hope they become well rounded members of the community,” he said. “At a minimum it gets kids moving and active for a week while introducing them to new sports. 

“This camp is a great way for young athletes to improve their skills while having a blast, they will have an opportunity to excel at their favourite sports and try some new ones.”  

The Camana Bay Multi-Sport Camp from Monday 9 July to Friday 13 July, starts at 8am and ends at 12 noon. For more information on the camp and how to register, contact [email protected] or call 640-2878.
