To all of Cayman’s most glamorous ladies, here’s a chance to do what you do best and raise money for a good cause while you are doing it. It’s the DMS Diva Dash and ladies are encouraged to dress up to the nines, don their highest heels and have a little laugh at their own expense, while also being in with a chance of winning some fabulous prizes.
It all kicks off on Thursday, 12 July, with registration from 5.30pm, on Market Street in Camana Bay, and races beginning around 7.30pm.
We call it a race but it’s a race designed to appeal to the diva in each of you, it’s not 5K and it doesn’t start at 7am on a weekend morning. It’s a far more considerate 60 metres, and it begins around 7.30pm – thoughtfully timed to coincide with Happy Hour.
There will be two main events – the Diva High Heel Dash and the Diamond Dash.
The first is a “race” down Market street, the catch being – you guessed it – it has to be done in stilettos. The first to cross the finish line can officially call herself a diva.
Alternatively, do what divas really do best and strut your stuff in the Diamond Dash, for the chance to win a special diamond prize.
There will be additional prizes for the Most Stylish Outfit and the Best Shoes.
Organised by BAF General Insurance, X107.1FM and Kiss 106.1Fm, all proceeds will benefit the National Council of Voluntary Organisations’s new initiative, a nutritional programme facilitated through Ms Nadine’s Pre-School and Jack & Jill Nursery to provide healthy meals and snacks to children 6 months to 4 years, as advised by Health Services Authority nutritionist Bethany Smith.
Tickets are $25 and include post-race cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Abacus. Tickets can be purchased from the dms Broadcasting Centre on Godfrey Nixon Way.
