Grand Caymanian to sponsor Jet Ski race

Jet Ski racing is coming to the Cayman Islands and it is to be sponsored by The Grand Caymanian Resort.

The resort will be title sponsor of the Cayman Islands Water Craft Association’s National Championship Round No. 3 Jet Ski race scheduled for Sunday, 29 July.

The national championship event will include a day of intense Jet Ski racing to compete for awards, prizes and the title of Cayman Islands Water Craft Association National Champion. The race course will feature high flying action and incredible speeds reaching 80 miles per hour, said Brooke Meyer, director of sales and marketing for the Grand Caymanian Resort. “We are privileged to become the title sponsor of this great event and look forward to providing an exciting day of family fun for race fans and spectators at the resort,” she said.

Free admission

Race events will take place directly behind the Grand Caymanian Resort on the North Sound side of Grand Cayman and the spectator area will be located on the resort’s beach. The event will start at 10am and will host a variety of activities including Jet Ski races, a beach volleyball tournament, a kayak race, and free Jet Ski rides for children, Ms Meyer said. Parents must be present. There will be on-site vendors, musical entertainment, a beachside barbecue and food and drink specials at the resort’s Blue Iguana Grill and Lounge. Spectator admission to the race event is free.
