Rachel is coming to Cayman to experience Magic

Young Rachel Roussel is excited about her first visit to the Cayman Islands.

The 12-year old girl from Orlando is the lucky winner of a special competition to visit the Orlando Magic Basketball Camp, which takes place from 23 to 27 July at Camana Bay
Sports Complex in Grand Cayman.

“I am super excited to have a chance to experience the Cayman Islands and the basketball camp,” Rachel said.

“I am so lucky to have won the trip and
told all of my friends about it.”

She won the trip by entering an online competition on the Orlando Magic website, which her mother, Michelle, found when she was searching for game tickets.

“I am looking forward to possibly meeting a professional player and coaches from the team,” Rachel said. “I am also very excited to learn about how to play basketball better and to meet new people.”

Hammocks and stingrays

Before entering the competition, Rachel said that she did not know a great deal about the Cayman Islands.

“My mom tells me it is going to be so much fun at the camp and that the islands are so beautiful. I love to swim, so it will be great.

I really want to go and see the Turtle Farm, the stingrays and just to lie in a hammock. Most I’ve laid in I usually fall out.

“I’m super, super excited. Go Magic,” she said.

The Orlando Magic Basketball Camp is an opportunity for aspiring hoops stars ages 7 to 17 to train with a special guest from the Orlando Magic.

Campers will receive authentic NBA instruction and improve their skills through stations, drills, skills contests and live games.
