During the week of June 25th, two groups of employees from the Cayman Islands Airport Authority completed a customised training programme on basic grammar & writing skills. This was delivered by Professional Development & Training Centre facilitator Catherine Tyson.
Participants learned the practical approach to the basics of good grammar and writing, which is a must for anyone who has to communicate in writing. Topics covered included the mechanics of vocabulary – prefixes, roots and suffixes, an overview of key spelling rules, standard English grammar with an emphasis on correct usage and the writing process or how to get started, organize information, draft and revise.
Also offered as part of the regularly scheduled training workshops at the Chamber’s offices, anyone interested in attending these grammar courses are welcome to register for the next session which will be held on 2 August. The regular cost for individuals is $150 for members and $225 for future members.
