It’s time for a jam with the steelpan this afternoon, Friday, 10 August.
Culture Jam, which takes place on the second and fourth Friday of the month during the summer months, is a cultural tradition dating back more than a decade.
It’s a cultural happy hour to which all are welcome. This Friday the focus is on steelpans and renowned musician Michael Lemay will be teaching some simple, introductory lessons.
“It’s very easy to learn. Within a few minutes you can learn to play a simple song,” says Marcia Muttoo, managing director of CNCF.
Jammers can always avail themselves of the cash bar and this week there will also be some complimentary rum tasting courtesy of Seven Fathoms rum.
Culture Jam runs from 5.30-7.30pm at the Harquail.
