Japal in training for Miss Universe

Lindsay Japal is gearing up to get fit and ready for the Miss Universe pageant in December.

Miss Japal 23, was crowed Miss Cayman 2011/2012 last September at the Lions Centre in Grand Cayman.

To assist her in training preparations for the Miss Universe pageant, CrossFit Cayman owner and coach Tarasa Barnett and her husband, Matthew Barnett, presented Ms Japal with a gym membership.

With the pageant fast approaching, Ms Japal said she is training with CrossFit Cayman to get her body ready. “I was also able to train with Chelsea Cooley in June while attending the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas, and will continue that training this coming weekend in New York City, which was generously sponsored by Caledonian”, she said.

Another big part of Ms Japal’s training is the photo shoots. “I had a few great shoots done locally by Luis Vallecillo, Patrick Broderick and David Goddard, as well as one with internationally acclaimed photographer Fadil Barisha while in Vegas,” she said, adding there are still quite a few photo shoots to come.
The Miss Cayman Committee expressed gratitude to the Barnetts for their donation and looks forward to working with Crossfit in the future.

CrossFit owners opened the fitness training programme three years ago.
