Suspected ganja grower arrested

A police operation in the Spotts-Newlands area Tuesday afternoon netted one arrest and led to the seizure of an unknown amount of ganja.

According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, a 32-year-old man was arrested under the misuse of drugs law for cultivation and possession of ganja and for suspicion of consuming of a controlled drug.

The man was released on police bail Tuesday.

“We will be paying close attention to persons who commit these and other offences,” said Acting RCIPS Chief Inspector Brad Ebanks. “At any given day persons involved in illegal activities could get an unexpected visit from the police”.
