Chelsea’s has big pooling power

Lovers of sports bars now have another option – the newly opened Chelsea’s, in Westshore Plaza on the West Bay Road.

It is more a sports lounge than a bar because it has four billiards tables, a small stage for performers and is designed for not just sports TV watchers but also for pool table enthusiasts and lovers of a laid-back ambience. There are plenty of flat-screen TVs dotted around the exquisitely designed premises. No food is cooked on site but patrons are allowed to bring meals in from any of the eateries in Westshore Plaza. It is a good arrangement as it creates a synergy with nearby businesses.

Chelsea’s owner Stan Walton used to be the proprietor at Jillian’s so he knows exactly what clientele he is aiming for. “A lot of people don’t even know that we’re open yet,” he said. “It’s just a matter of time before we get the word out.

“Everybody who has been here is astounded. They really love the place and its ambience. It is more a sports lounge than a bar. They like the billiards room, say it is very classy and think it is just the right thing for this location.”
