The Taste of Cayman Food and Wine Festival will be held at the Festival Green in Camana Bay in 2013.
The 25th anniversary event is scheduled for Saturday, 26 January in Grand Cayman. That quarter century milestone is one which the Cayman Islands Tourism Association says it intends to recognise and celebrate.
Executive Director Jane van der Bol said that she was proud to announce the new venue.
“We’re excited to see Taste of Cayman return to a field for the commemoration of the festival’s 25th anniversary. We know it all began in a field and this is a great way to pay homage to the event’s grass roots beginnings,” she said.
Growing event
Taste of Cayman began in the late 1980s with a small number of restaurants from the Cayman Islands Restaurant Association. The event has now grown to what it is today, with more than 45 restaurant and distributors participating in an open air event that comprises of an attendance more than 4,000 people.
Taste of Cayman is now one of the largest events in the Cayman Islands and Camana Bay’s Festival Green perfectly accommodates the events growing number of restaurant booths, volunteers and attendees, Ms van der Bol said.
The 25th anniversary of Taste of Cayman intends to focus particularly on Cayman culture, heritage and cuisine. The “All Things Cayman” feature area will be a focal point of the festival and will be both appetising and entertaining, the association noted.

Great news. The location for the past few years within Camana Bay was just terrible, was like Piccadilly Circus, couldn’t move for the crowds.
Hopefully everyone doesn’t get sick with food poisoning like last year.
