Academy Sports Club’s is one of the most progressive football outfits in the Cayman Islands.
Always aware of the importance of medical backup among its four teams, youth coaches and team managers completed a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training course in preparation for the 2012-13 season over the weekend.
Academy Sports Club is a non profit organisation which runs youth programmes for players aged between five and 17, so safety is a primary concern.
Virgil Seymour, Academy’s head coach, said: “Children are entrusted to us by their parents each day and we want to be as prepared as we can be to ensure their safety. We are looking forward a wonderful upcoming seasons and our coaches all resumed training last week.”
The group completed their CPR training on Saturday at Fitness Connection. All four Academy youth teams made it to the FA Cup finals last season, with their Under-13 silver, U-13 gold and U-15 teams all winning the FA Cup.
