The Visual Arts Society is calling all artists to apply to be the Featured Artist of the Season.
Each season the Visual Arts Society recognises one or more of its members as a featured artist. All forms of visual art are encouraged and both emerging and well-established artists will be considered.
The featured artist or artists of the season will have the chance to display and sell their works at a special exhibition, sponsored by VAS.
The exhibition takes place over a weekend at Watler House Studio at Pedro Castle, and the promotion and coordination of the event is handled by the society.
It’s an excellent opportunity for newcomers to the Cayman Islands’ art scene to introduce themselves and their work, while for established artists it’s a chance to display new work or new techniques and consolidate their reputations.
The Visual Arts Society was formed with the objective of appreciating art, enhancing it and facilitating the learning thereof in the Cayman Islands. They therefore host exhibitions and help artist to promote their work as well as organising a variety of art workshops.
The deadline for applications for Artist of the Season has been extended to 30 September, 2012.
