Rabbie Burns said it rightly when he noted that the best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men / Gang aft agley / An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain / For promis’d joy.
But what the Scottish poet didn’t note was that sometimes things can just be rescheduled. We reckon that would probably have ruined the poem, which ends on a fearful note about the future.
We are talking here of the postponement of the play Doubt, which was due to start last week.
However, according to the Cayman National Cultural Foundation, poor Peter Kosa (Father Brendan Flynn in the play) suffered a knee injury and was ordered to stay off it by doctors.
Therefore the play will now take place on these dates:
Friday, 28 and Saturday, 29 September – 8pm; Sunday, 30 September 6pm.
Friday, 5 and Saturday, 6 October – 8pm; Sunday, 7 October 6 pm.
Friday, 12 and Saturday, 13 October – 8pm; Sunday, 14 October 6pm.
Anyone who has purchased a ticket – even tim’rous beasties – may contact the Foundation on 949-5477 for exchange or refund.
