Thiago Cunha is technical director of the women’s national football programme in the Cayman Islands. He said: “She is doing extremely well for her age. When Chelsea started working with the national team six years ago she lost 45lbs and now she’s one of the best players in her school.
“I had a conversation with Chelsea, who is 16, and she’s very happy for the opportunity to play in the USA School League. I’m proud and happy.
“I’ve seen the work that she has put in over the years with the national programme. She was working at 6am and 4pm with the national team and I did a mega-gym programme for Chelsea. It’s no accident she’s scoring a lot of goals now.”
